Giveaway Monday – Review of a product for mums in business
Baby and Business on Board is essentially a collection of short interviews with successful business women many of whom started their business while their children were young. Each interview highlights a different aspect of beginning and running a business and is capped off with a few bullet points to drive the information home.
It is very hard not to be inspired when reading about the successes of the amazing women featured in this book but it was equally so to read about their failures. I loved how candid many of the women were about the stumbling blocks they encountered and the way their business has affected their families. It is always nice to have a little reminder that everyone has to start somewhere and what better way to do it then in a compact, easy to read book.
It is clear that Johanna Baker Dowdell is an expert at providing critical information in small and digestible chunks and I would love to see a follow up to this book which provided a step by step outline of how to set-up and run a business with children underfoot, but in the mean time I can see myself coming back to dabble in this book from time to time in search of a little gem of inspiration.
