‘How to’ create facebook tabs

Giveaway Monday – Review of an eBook for mums in business

Having literally just registered my businesses Facebook page, the opportunity to review Wendy Chamberlain’s ‘How to Facebook’ eBook could not have come at a better time.

how to create facebook tabs

With Facebook playing a more prominent role in our lives than ever, it is essential that developing information rich pages with unique content is a must to enhance brand recognition. In order to achieve this customising your page using tabs is an integral part of your social media strategy and Wendy Chamberlain’s how to guide provides an informative introduction on how to go about doing this.

The guide takes you through iFrames, the building blocks of custom tabs and then proceeds to introduce the reader to 10 of what the author believes to be the simplest third party applications which are required to create your pages.  The eBook describes features of each of these applications and takes the reader step by step through using it complete with extremely helpful pictorials of what screen you should be looking at. Brilliant!

While the thought of creating custom pages may seem like a challenge for those unaccustomed to programming, Wendy’s guide keeps the geek speak to a minimum using simple, clear instructions.

As a complete novice when it comes to all things programming, I would have loved the author to have included more on the pros and cons of each of the applications along with her recommendations.  The eBook is a valuable informative resource however I found myself needing to delve further into searching for reviews to decide on which application was best suited to my goals.

I am new to blogging and I am quickly building up a list of followers on Facebook for my blog ‘Discover My Ballarat’. My blog is evolving into what my readers want and I would love to learn new ways of engaging my audience on Facebook. I have often wondered how you can make tabs on Facebook so I can link users to my Twitter & Pinterest accounts, make competitions, have mailing lists etc. Any help would much be appreciated.

  3. Nicola says:

I would love to win a copy of Custom Tab on Facebook as I think it would be a great boost to starting a Facebook Profile for my new business which needs all the marketing help it can get.

  4. Jodie says:

I struggle to think of regular content on my Facebook page (without sounding like I’m selling). I would love to create tabs too! Now that FB allow you to schedule posts… I really need to do a FB marketing plan and prepare my posts in advance.

  5. Lisa says:

What timing! I would love to know how to add a Pintrest tab and a join our mailing list tab to my FB page. I have read up but have no idea …would love the help!!

I am on Facebook most days during the week and still I would have to say the progress from interaction to business is slow. I make comments on other people’s pages, I mix up what I’m posting ie. statuses, photos, quotes, products but the interaction and subsequent growth is slow. I’d love to know more about how I can make it more engaging and better for the followers which in turn will make my business better… I hope!

  7. This is such wonderful timing because for the life of me I cannot figure out how to create Facebook Tabs. I have read so many online tutorials and still don’t get it. Great giveaway!

  8. Hi Eleanora,
Thanks so much for such a glowing review of my eBook. Thanks Alli for the opportunity to take part, too. It’s a great resource to offer to your readers.

I certainly will take your feedback on board for future revision. You’ve made some great points!

I can’t wait to see all the comments on how people are faring on Facebook and help out if I can.

    Wendy
