Mums! De-stress using Emotional Freedom Technique

Giveaway Monday – Review of a service for mums in business

Hooray, I finally won a Monday Giveaway. And HOORAY, the win couldn’t have been timed any better. A 60 minute de-stress session, using the EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) “Tapping” may be just what I need.

Tapping

Kelly Burch, Dog Rose Healing, demonstrating tapping

I started my business almost four months ago now, and have had very little “me” time to relax and “de-stress”. As a busy WAHM to two young children, I had forgotten how to relax, it has been too long! I had no idea what to expect from the session. Kelly and I chatted over skype so we could see one another. We began the session with questions from Kelly about my stress levels, and what may of caused them to be so high, but in particular, the words that resonated with my feelings and current situation. “Tapping” is used to stimulate energy flow an eliminate stress.

The particular words that resonated with me, being a busy working mum, were ‘Calm’, ‘Juggle’, ‘Tension’, ‘Guilt’ and ‘Empowered’. While “tapping” away, these words were said out loud by both of us to relieve the stress and tension associated to each of these words. It certainly did that. After about 30 minutes, I began feeling relaxed and almost tension free. 60 minutes in, I was so relaxed I couldn’t stop yawning. Kelly assured me this was a good sign the technique was working. I would agree.

I currently see a Physiotherapist to relieve tension in my shoulders, neck and back. In the past, I have found this to be the only way to get some relief. Thanks to Kelly, I have learnt a new technique to relieve this tension on my own, something I never thought I’d be able to do.

Thank you Kelly, can’t wait for another session to learn some more techniques from you.

What a fabulous approach to dealing with stress. My biggest stress at the moment is trying to fit all that I need to do into the limited time that I have to do it. I know I should start by setting goals, but I just don’t have the time – arghhh!

My biggest stress unfortunately is money. Boo!
Having recently become at SAHM which I am very happy doing it. We are now a one wage family. Never wanting to have to do the whole child care thing (plus full time won’t cover it). Money is now a constant issue and ongoing stress in my new stage of life. Learning EFT would help to distress :)
